The 6 month holiday visa is a long stay entry visa for those planning to stay in Australia for longer than 3 months visiting for tourism purposes or to visit family and friends.

This visa does not allow you to work but you can visit Australia for up to 6 months. It is open to any age group but you are required to show that you are able to support yourself financially.

In order to apply for a 6 month holiday visa you must agree with the following conditions:

• not to work in Australia
• be able to prove that you have over $AUS 6,900 in your bank
• not to study for more than 3 months while in Australia (if you intend to study for longer than 4 weeks in Australia, you may be required to undergo a chest x-ray examination).
